Polkomtel sale postponed to 6 May

The deadline for second round bids for Polish cellco Polkomtel has been pushed back to 6 May, according to Dow Jones Newswires which cites ‘people familiar with the situation’. Seven bidders have been given the green light to conduct due diligence, including four private equity bidders. Swedish powerhouse TeliaSonera, Norwegian counterpart Telenor and Polish entrepreneur Zygmunt Solorz-Zak are also believed to be in the running. Dow Jones adds that the highest bid to date is supposedly worth more than PLN18 billion (USD6.32 million), while the lowest bid weighs in at PLN16 billion.
