Telkom Austria has been confirmed as the sole bidder for a 51% stake in majority state-owned Telekom Srbija. ‘The working group now has five days to verify validity of the offer,’ said Finance Ministry secretary Vuk Djokovic. ‘We will analyse the offer and will notify the public.’ The government owns 80% of the telco with Greek telco OTE holding the remainder. Under the terms of the deal, OTE will sell its entire stake, and the government will sell 31%. The Austrian company is believed to have offered in the region of USD1.4 billion for the 51% stake.
