BT and Vodafone extend MVNO deal

16 Mar 2011

British fixed line incumbent BT has reportedly inked a five-year extension to its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with mobile network operator Vodafone UK, Mobile Today reports. While BT is thought to currently have less than 100,000 mobile subscribers the decision to renew its partnership with Vodafone is thought to be a sign of its intent to make a play for a bigger slice of the country’s mobile sector. Further, the report claims that BT Mobile will also resell Vodafone’s Sure Signal femtocell product. Commenting on the matter a Vodafone spokesperson was cited as saying: ‘Vodafone can confirm that it has renewed its deal with BT, building on our quality long-term partnership.’
