Greek incumbent telco Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE) does not plan to make any further staff cuts at its mobile network operating division, Cosmote, following its announcement last month that it would axe 120 employees at the unit, according to local newspaper Imerisia quoting a letter to the company from its CEO, Michael Tsamaz. The executive denied speculation that more redundancies were on the cards at Cosmote – operating in Greece and south-east Europe – while stressing that the announced 120 staff losses form a necessary part of efficiency measures to raise competitiveness.
