Belgian cableco Telenet is to seek areas of agreement and partnership with fellow cable operator Voo, reports Reuters quoting remarks made by Telenet’s CEO in a newspaper interview. Cooperation between the two operators would make sense as they do not compete in one another’s footprint. However, industry watchers are sceptical as to whether any such tie-up would be approved by regulators. Telenet revealed earlier this month that it was considering a bid for the Brussels-based unit of French cableco Numericable. Telenet currently controls the northern region of Flanders, while Numericable is active in Brussels with Voo providing services in the southern region of Wallonia.
