Yoigo reveals trial of international VoIP service

18 Feb 2011

Spanish mobile network operator Xfera Moviles, which offers services under the Yoigo banner, has announced that it will run a beta test of an international mobile VoIP service that will allow its mobile subscribers to make calls to fixed line numbers in 20 countries. The service, which will be offered without any monthly charge to both Yoigo’s pre- and post-paid customers, will not reportedly require the installation of any software, and will offer calls priced between EUR0.04 and EUR0.075 (USD0.047 and USD0.088) per minute depending on the country being called; calls will cost EUR0.15 to be connected. Xfera expects to begin the trial on 1 March, and it will run for three months.
