25 Jan 2011

The UK mobile subsidiary of Vodafone Group has inked a mobile virtual network aggregator (MVNA) wholesale agreement with Gamma Telecom. According to Vodafone UK the deal will allow Gamma’s channel partners to become full mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) operating on the cellco’s network, and the agreement represents the former’s first foray with an MVNA which specifically targets the business market. Commercial launch of services over Vodafone’s network by Gamma partners is expected in the second quarter of 2011, and the MVNA is already understood to be looking for interested parties. Tim Stone, Vodafone UK’s director of wholesale said of the deal: ‘This is a great opportunity for Vodafone’s award winning network to strengthen the portfolios of Gamma’s partners whilst expanding Vodafone’s wholesale expertise into the fixed reseller market.’
