Globe launches GPON-based ultra-high speed broadband

Globe Telecom of the Philippines today launched a new ultra-high speed broadband plan based on fibre-optic gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology, and delivering connection speeds of between 6Mbps and 100Mbps.

The telco’s ‘hyperspeed’ broadband plan includes a fixed line connection and a Wi-Fi router, says Domingo Aurelio Ronquillo II, Globe’s head of broadband and landline marketing. The new product is part of the operator’s growing portfolio of broadband services which includes the Tattoo SuperStick, the Tattoo MyFi and the Tattoo Stick, he added.
