The Jordan Times writes that Zain has confirmed that it will launch its 3G network in the first three months of 2011, once Orange Jordan’s exclusivity expires. Zain said it will sign its 3G licence agreement with the government and launch the services immediately after Orange’s monopoly ends on 14 February. Zain CEO Abdul Malek Al Jaber told reporters that his company is ready to launch the service and will offer coverage of the entire Kingdom from day one. By the end of 2011, Jaber expects to have signed up 150,000 3G customers. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database Zain Jordan finished 2010 with 2.6 million subscribers, giving it a market share of approximately 39%.
