SFR announces unlimited mobile calls plan

12 Jan 2011

French mobile operator SFR, backed by telecoms and entertainment conglomerate Vivendi, has announced plans to offer unlimited mobile calls from 18 January as part of its triple-play ‘Neufbox Evolution’ product, launched in November last year. The telco hopes the move will help it pre-empt the threat of rival Iliad (Free) which recently started offering free calls to mobiles for users of its own internet box package, ‘Revolution’. The industry is now watching France Telecom to see if the country’s number one operator by subscribers jumps on the bandwagon.
