Singapore Telecom (SingTel) and Portugal Telecom has concluded the signing of a collaboration deal designed to share knowledge for the development of IPTV and fibre-optic technologies. Under the accord, the two telcos will work together in the areas of fixed line optical fibre networks and internet protocol (IP) television services, the Business Times reports. Further, the agreement extends to procurement in order to save costs by generating economies of scale, and secondment programmes to develop staffing skills, SingTel said in a statement.
