‘Dominating’ T-Com beats abuse rap; watchdog refuses to roll over

7 Dec 2010

Reuters reports that a Bratislava court has overturned a EUR29.4 million (USD39.5 million) fine imposed on incumbent PSTN operator Slovak Telekom (T-Com) by the country’s Anti-Monopoly Office. The competition watchdog levied the record fine on the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary in 2005 for abusing its dominant market position, and reissued the penalty in May 2009. The Office said it will appeal the latest decision to the High Court.
