Far EasTone selects Transmode to implement optical infrastructure

3 Dec 2010

Taiwanese cellco Far EasTone (FET) has announced that it has deployed Transmode’s TM-Series Intelligent WDM (iWDMTM) optical networking platform in the country’s capital city Taipei. The new infrastructure will be used for fixed network traffic. Far EasTone worked with both Transmode and Opnet Technologies, a local value added reseller, to roll out TM-Series platforms initially across a six-node point-to-point optical network.

Richard Tseng, manager of the network and solution planning department at Far EasTone commented: ‘Far EasTone is delighted with the solution supplied by Transmode and Opnet, which has improved our connectivity and service to our customers. The implementation was swift and cost-effective. In addition we were able to easily integrate the Transmode network management platform with our OSS and BSS systems’.
