Telecel goes per-second

25 Nov 2010

Telecel Zimbabwe has become the latest cellco to begin billing customers per-second for its entire range of calling services, including international calls. The Orascom-controlled GSM operator simultaneously announced a USD0.02 reduction in the price of domestic SMS messaging to USD0.07 and a steeper drop in its international SMS messaging charge to USD0.09 from USD0.22. Its actions followed similar moves from larger rival Econet and state-run NetOne.
