SNR aims for 10,000 WiMAX customers by end 2011

Romanian state-owned communications and broadcasting company National Radiocommunications Company (SNR or Radiocom) has launched its WiMAX network in the city of Onesti and says it aims to sign up 10,000 users by the end of 2011. The operator will focus on providing services to underserved areas, and has a commitment to have coverage of at least 17 municipalities in seven cities by mid-2011. The firm is offering residential customers in Onesti the choice of up to three service plans offering download speeds of 1Mbps, 2Mbps and 4Mbps, with the fastest option priced at EUR14 (USD18.7) per month.
