GVT launches fixed line operations in Valparaiso de Goias

Brazilian fixed line and broadband operator Global Village Telecom (GVT) has launched operations in Valparaiso de Goias, offering fixed telephony services and broadband access with speeds of up to 100Mbps. In a press release GVT said it had invested BRL3 million (USD1.7 million) to get the service off the ground. At launch, the operator’s network is available to around 40% of residential users in five city neighbourhoods, equivalent to 3,800 broadband access and voice subscribers, it said.
