German cable operator Kabel BW has announced its revenue for the nine months ended 30 September 2010 rose 12.5% year-on-year to EUR409.3 million (USD565 million), up from EUR363.9 million in the same period a year earlier. The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the nine-month period totalled EUR231.4 million, an increase of 22.3% compared to the EUR189.2 million reported twelve months previously. EBITDA margin improved from 52% in the first three quarters of 2009 to 56.5% a year later. At 30 September 2010 Kabel BW’s broadband internet and telephony customer base stood at 624,000, an increase of 29% compared to the 483,000 reported a year earlier. The Baden-Wurttemberg-based company said 27% of its 2.3 million cable customers now subscribe to internet and telephony services, which it claims is the highest proportion of any German cable network operator. Kabel BW witnessed a 39% year-on-year increase in pay-TV revenue generating units (RGUs) to 259,000 at 30 September 2010.
