US-based ISP Earthlink has reported a 17% decline in revenue in the third quarter of 2010 to USD145.2 million, compared to the USD174.52 million recorded in the same three months of 2009. Broadband services generated 61% of the company’s total turnover in the third quarter, up from 57% in Q3 2009. Net customer losses during the three months ended 30 September 2010 were 95,000, an improvement on the 146,000 decline recorded in Q3 2009, lowering the group’s total customer base to 1.84 million, of which 1.71 million were residential and 129,000 business users. Net income for Q3 was USD21.4 million, down from USD29.8 million. The company reaffirmed its guidance for full year 2010, predicting a net income of between USD94 million and USD97 million.
