Du expands fixed network with GENBAND IP solutions

IP infrastructure and solutions provider GENBAND has announced that it has been selected by UAE telecoms operator Du to expand the company’s next generation fixed network. The vendor has supplied its IP Switching solutions to enable Du to offer more reliable and advanced Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) communications – widely used for offering multimedia communications session to residential and business subscribers across the UAE. The solutions will help seamlessly evolve Du’s network to IP by consolidating all of its Class 5 traffic onto one platform, while at the same time providing consumer and business voice and multimedia solutions for the operator’s growing customer base. ‘We have experienced positive growth and established ourselves as the operator of choice for business and residential customers.
