Japanese multiservice operator (MSO) Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM) says it has increased digital take-up to 99% of its TV subscribers now taking the service. RapidTVNews reports the MSO as saying that as at 30 September digital migration had climbed to 99% from 87% a year earlier. Moreover, at the group’s organic consolidated subsidiaries the figure has now reached the 100% mark. J:COM has added 44,100 net new TV users in the past twelve months to reach a total of 2.632 million. However, more than 2.614 million of these are digital customers, which is increasingly important as the MSO looks to maximise revenue streams from its existing user base. J:COM, which has 50 cable networks in place across Japan, claimed that total households signed up to one of its services (TV, internet or basic TV) reached 3.376 million at end-September, up 4% year-on-year.
