Store giant targets mom 'n' pop with T-Mobile

US retail giant Wal-Mart has launched a new MVNO service over T-Mobile USA’s network. The post-paid ‘Family Mobile’ package requires no annual contract, with an initial line costing USD45 per month for unlimited calls and texts plus 100MB data usage, and additional lines costing USD25 per month each with the same benefits. Users can add additional data to be shared amongst the ‘family’ lines. The service joins Wal-Mart’s ‘Common Cents’ and ‘Straight Talk’ mobile resale offerings, which piggyback on the Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless networks respectively.
