US-based network specialist Ciena has won a contract with Bouygues Telecom to supply its CN 4200 FlexSelect Advanced Services Platform for the expansion of the latter’s transport network and xDSL aggregation, across France. The telco hopes the upgrade will also enhance network capacity and enable it to handle increased volumes of mobile traffic. The Ciena-supplied CN 4200 packet-optical transport infrastructure solution is designed to work with mobile and fixed networks and provides a wide range of interface and service options, as well as being able to handle any need of the transport network. In addition, the CN 4200 FlexSelect advanced services platform enables Bouygues Telecom to support new data, video and voice services economically, for residential and business subscribers, the vendor said in a statement.
