Qtel and Huawei begin FTTH rollout

Qatar Telecom (Qtel) announced on Monday that it has begun the implementation of its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network to connect households and businesses across the country with 100Mbps fibre connections and advanced triple-play services over the next three years. The FTTH programme was announced in March 2010, and rollout started this week with Chinese firm Huawei as the telco’s technology partner.
