Cellcom’s profit climbs 17.7%

Israeli mobile operator Cellcom has posted a 5.2% year-on-year rise in second-quarter revenues to ILS1.691 billion (USD436 million), helping to drive a 17.7% increase in net profit to ILS326 million. EBITDA in the three months ended 30 June 2010 was ILS682 million, a 7.1% increase on the same period of 2009. Cellcom’s 3G mobile subscriber base grew by 39,000 during the quarter to reach 1.076 million at mid-2010, accounting for 32% of the company’s total 3.341 million customers (up by 28,000 quarter-on-quarter).
