Telekom Slovenije’s EBITDA drops 5% in 1H10

Consolidated net revenues of the Telekom Slovenije group reached EUR412.8 million (USD522.4 million) in the first six months of 2010, a year-on-year increase of 2%, but despite this the Slovenian and southeast European operator’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 5% over the same period to EUR132.2 million. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR25 million in January-June 2010, 45% less than in the same period of 2009, whilst the group posted a small six-month net profit of EUR4.3 million. Its number of retail fixed broadband connections increased by 2% compared to the start of the year, reaching 328,539 at end-June 2010, 212,452 of which were in Telekom’s domestic market. Slovenian cellular unit Mobitel’s total users remained virtually level compared to end-2009 at 1,178,834 by mid-2010, whilst the group’s total fixed and mobile connections stood at 2,632,144 at the end of the period.
