FT to launch quad-play service this month

12 Aug 2010

France Telecom (FT) has announced its intentions to launch so-called ‘quad-play’ services later this month, after the French regulatory authorities removed restrictions barring it from cross-selling its services to existing customers. In a press release the Paris-based behemoth said its bundled fixed line, internet, TV, and mobile package will cost between EUR39.9 (USD51.93) and EUR109.9 per month when they are introduced from 19 August. FT’s new package, marketed as ‘Orange Open’, is available as either a 24-month or a twelve-month contract, although the latter costs EUR6 more, the company said in an e-mailed statement. Bouygues Telecom, the country’s third largest mobile operator, launched its own quad-play services in May 2009 and Vivendi-controlled SFR also offers a similar service.
