Telus boosts net income

The net profit of Canadian full-service telco Telus rose to CAD296 million (USD288 million) in the second quarter of 2010, up from CAD268 million twelve months earlier, on revenues that rose by 0.9% year-on-year to CAD2.4 billion. Total fixed/broadband/wireless customer connections reached 11,979,000 at end-June, up from 11,893,000 a year before, as fixed network users fell from 5.4 million to 5.3 million over the period, whilst wireless customers increased from 6.3 million to 6.7 million.
