Vodacom offers On Demand mobile TV subscriptions

South African cellular operator Vodacom has teamed up with On Demand Group to launch mobile TV subscription on-demand services to its 3G user base. The companies claim that the ‘TV:On Demand’ service, including TV series, music videos and other content, is the first of its kind available in Africa, allowing mobile users to watch what they want on demand, at any time. A monthly subscription costs ZAR75 (USD10.33), or a week’s access can be obtained for ZAR20.
