Entel of Chile has reported a net revenue of CLP267.315 billion (USD504 million) for the three months ended 30 June 2010, up 12% on the CLP238.801 billion recorded in the same period of 2009. The increase was as a result of a 13% rise in the group’s customer base and a 4% increase in average revenue per user. Mobile services generated CLP206.323 billion (up 18%), data services CLP19.849 billion (unchanged), local telephony CLP9.814 billion (-5%), long-distance CLP8.462 billion (-7%) and internet CLP3.786 billion (unchanged). EBITDA climbed 13% to CLP110.546 billion, while operating income jumped 15% to CLP51.488 billion. Second-quarter net income rose 26% from CLP33.295 billion to CLP41.028 billion. Operationally, Entel ended June with 6.784 million wireless customers, of which 343,000 subscribed to a mobile broadband plan.
