MegaFon expands 3G in Stavropol

Russian mobile operator MegaFon has announced the deployment of 3G equipment at more than 80 base stations in the Stavropol region. Its 3G network currently covers Stavropol, Nevinnomysk, Kislovodsk, and Pyatigorsk. The network is based on W-CDMAHSDPA technology, and offers download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. The operator plans to launch its commercial services in the Stavropol region as soon as possible.
