Indonesia’s government will call a fresh tender for WiMAX licences in the country after three of the eight licensed operators failed to meet the terms and conditions of their licence awards. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCI) has rescinded the licences held by Rahajasa Media Internet, Internux, and a consortium of Comtronics Systems and Adiwarta Perdania, the Jakarta Post reports. No date has as yet been set for the auction which will include bidding for seven of the country’s 15 administration zones: zone 4 (Banten and Greater Jakarta), zone 5 (West Java excluding Bekasi, Bogor and Depok), zone 6 (Central Java), zone 7 (East Java), zone 9 (Papua), zone 10 (Maluku and North Maluku), and zone 15 (Riau).
