PeterStar to merge with subsidiaries

23 Jul 2010

Russian regional operator PeterStar, a subsidiary of Synterra, has announced plans to merge five of its own subsidiaries into its central operation. Gazinternet and Euro-Telecom (which are based in Kaliningrad), Arkhangelsk-based TD-Telecom, St Petersburg-based Linya1 and Tver-based Kansstel will all be liquidated and turned into local branches of PeterStar. The merger is designed to drive parent company Synterra’s overall structure towards synergy with MegaFon, the cellco that acquired 100% of Synterra in March 2010.
