Rostelecom doubles internet capacity for Far East Telecom

20 Jul 2010

Russian national operator Rostelecom has announced that it has doubled the broadband capacity of regional operator Far East Telecom (Dalsvyaz) to 7.3Gbps. The expansion is part of Rostelecom’s co-operation programme with all of the regional operators belonging to Russian telecommunications holding company Svyazinvest. Although it is the largest operator in its own region, Far East Telecom is the smallest of the seven mega-regional telcos within Svyazinvest. In March 2010 Far East Telecom had 450,000 broadband subscribers, representing 3.7% of all high speed internet connections.
