12 Jul 2010

Brazilian voice and data services provider Junto Telecom has selected Israeli carrier-class solutions provider VocalTec to supply it with a suite of VoIP products for the evolution of the telco’s ‘Class-5’ and IP-Centrex VoIP network. Under the deal the Israeli supplier will replace the VoIP operator’s legacy telephony platform with its Essentra family of carrier grade, scalable products. The contract includes VocalTec’s Essentra BAX VoIP Application Server, and the optimisation of Junto’s IP-to-PSTN and IP-to-IP interconnection services. As another part of the deal, Junto subscribers will be able to enjoy services such as video calling, calling-card and pre-paid services, it said.
