LTE tender planned for year end

Polish telecoms regulator Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), intends to launch a tender for Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio spectrums this year. President of UKE Anna Strezynska said she expected the tender to be held in the fourth quarter of 2010, with the licences awarded in early 2011. According to reports, UKE plans to auction spectrum in both the 2.6GHz and 790MHz-862MHz bands together. However, as it stands the lower frequencies are currently controlled by the military.
