Etisalat, KT forge cooperation deal

UAE-based telecoms operator Etisalat has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with South Korean counterpart KT to jointly develop new telecoms products and collaborative services for customers. The collaboration will focus on creating innovative solutions for global roaming on Wi-Fi, machine-to-machine telecommunication (M2M), IPTV and managed services, to benefit both domestic and international business customers of the two operators. ‘This partnership brings together two of the world’s leading telecoms services providers who will strategically align their infrastructural and intellectual capabilities, to provide cutting edge solutions to businesses in their respective countries,’ commented Etisalat’s chief marketing officer, Essa Al Haddad, adding: ‘This partnership will also consolidate Etisalat’s position as the region’s most forward-looking telecoms and ICT service provider, as we continue to lead innovative developments in the ICT industry and seek to shape the technology and communications market of the future.’ The two companies will also work towards creating points of presence (PoPs) in South Korea and the UAE which will eventually provide improved direct links and a faster service for their customers in the two countries.
