PCCW Global, via its subsidiary HKT Global (Singapore), has signed an Inter-Carrier-Interconnection (ICI) agreement with Sri Lankan telecoms service provider Dialog Telekom to interconnect the companies’ Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks. With the ICI agreement, Dialog, Sri Lanka’s largest mobile operator, will leverage PCCW Global’s MPLS network to provide corporate customers with access to a wide portfolio of international data, voice and video applications, in addition to value added and managed services. The agreement also gives Dialog the opportunity to become a global service provider for converged enterprise solutions. At the same time, PCCW Global, a subsidiary of Hong Kong full-service communications provider PCCW, will be able to capture the rising demand for international connectivity to Sri Lanka. Dialog’s CEO, Supun Weerasinghe, said the partnership will provide ‘seamless data connectivity to suit the diverse requirements of customers from around the world,’ and ‘significant benefits to our existing customer base, as well as potential customers who seek superior data communications networks, which facilitate increased performance, cost efficiency and reliability.’ Frederick Chui, PCCW Global’s Senior Vice President, EMEA, said that the ICI deal further extended its network coverage to over 1,100 cities in more than 100 countries.
