VTN deploys WDM solution for fibre backbone

27 May 2010

ADVA Optical Networking has announced that Vietnam’s largest telecommunications carrier, Vietnam Telecoms National (VTN), has deployed its ADVA FSP 3000 solution to provide managed Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) connectivity services to enterprise customers. The solution, which has been deployed at major financial institutions in Vietnam, will improve the transport capacity of VTN’s fibre-optic network and identifies problems in the fibre backbone. It is a scalable WDM system designed for service providers and large enterprises that require a flexible, cost-effective system that multiplexes, transports and protects high speed data, storage, voice and video applications. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, VTN manages the domestic infrastructure of Vietnam’s state-owned incumbent telco, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT), which stretches 3,000km across the whole of the country.
