SingTel’s regional user base increases 17% to 293m

Southeast Asia’s largest telecoms group by revenues, Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), today announced that its regional mobile customer base reached 293 million by the end of March 2010, up 17%, or 43 million, year-on-year. The group noted that of the yearly net additions, more than eight million were accrued in the December-March period, with strong growth reported in associate companies operating in Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Thailand. Tomorrow SingTel will its financial results for the fourth quarter and financial year, ending 31 March 2010.
