Kabel BW eyes Tele Columbus assets

10 May 2010

German regional cable operator Kabel BW plans to buy a cable network in the federal state of Baden Wuerttemberg from Tele Columbus, Bloomberg reports, citing Kabel BW spokesman Martin Herkommer. The deal depends on approval from Germany’s cartel authorities, which could take up to four months. Herkommer added that Kabel BW hopes to buy a cable network that passes around 50,000 households, in order to widen its potential customer reach, although the official declined to mention how much the cableco is offering for the assets. Kabel BW currently has a cable subscriber base of 2.27 million, accounting for half of all households in Baden Wuerttemberg.
