TBC to offer 20Mbps service based on DOCSIS 3.0

Taiwan Broadband Communications (TBC) is upgrading its infrastructure to DOCSIS 3.0 via a cooperation agreement with Motorola, which will allow it to offer download speeds of up to 20Mbps from July, according to the company. At the same time, TBC will automatically upgrade its 10Mbps service to 12Mbps in July. TBC said it currently has 140,000 broadband subscribers, about 80% of which enjoy speeds of more than 8Mbps.
