Central European based altnet Invitel Holdings has reportedly begun exclusive talks with Saudi Oger-controlled telco Turk Telekom concerning the acquisition of Invitel’s international wholesale business, which comprises the holding company as well as subsidiaries such as AT-Invitel, Invitel International Hungary and EuroWeb Romania. It is understood that any deal will depend on regulatory clearance. Invitel International Wholesale is active in 16 countries in central and south-eastern Europe, providing wholesale data and capacity services. Hungary-based Invitel Holdings was acquired late last year by Mid Europa Partners from Danish telco TDC.
