Chinese IT services provider VanceInfo Technologies has announced it has signed an agreement to provide a comprehensive telecoms back-end management system for Chuan Wei Cambodia. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Chuan Wei, part of the Thai Boon Roong conglomerate, provides dedicated access to corporate users in Cambodia via a nationwide backbone network comprising close to 3,000km of high capacity fibre-optic cable installed in Phnom Penh. The company is also planning to launch nationwide WiMAX services later this year, after contracting Alcatel-Lucent in February 2009 to deploy a nationwide 802.16e network. ‘Chuan Wei will play a leading role in establishing world-class broadband and ICT infrastructure in Cambodia, so we can afford to work with nothing less than world-class IT services companies having expertise in the telecom space,’ noted Alan Khov, Chuan Wei’s chaiman and CEO, adding, ‘Our goal is an integrated solution to handle not only our business and operational support systems (B/OSS), but also billing and customer-relationship management. VanceInfo’s software will underpin a new, higher-quality breed of internet services in Cambodia.’
