ITU provides financial support to Belarus

The Ministry of Communications of Belarus has signed an agreement with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) under which it will receive USD65,800 in aid to help provide broadband internet access in rural areas. e-belarus.org quotes the first deputy minister of communications and informatisation Ivan Rak as saying, ‘The main goal of the project is to provide people with a broad range of online social services … It will provide not only easy access to information resources, but also experience in the sphere of information and communication technologies.’
