Virgin to demo 200Mbps service publicly later this month

19 Mar 2010

British cableco Virgin Media has revealed that it will demonstrate its 200Mbps broadband service publicly at the Ideal Home Show in London between 20 March and 5 April. The operator has been trialling the service in Kent since May 2009, and last month it extended the trials to Coventry. Ashley Stockwell, executive director of brand and marketing at Virgin Media, noted: ‘The service is unlike anything the public has seen before… Ultrafast broadband like our 200Mbps service will enable a whole household to enjoy cutting edge entertainment, not just via computers, but through an array of gadgets all over the home. By pushing the boundaries of broadband in the UK we hope to drive a change in the way Brits enjoy and experience digital entertainment and exciting new services.’
