Investor, the holding company of Sweden’s Wallenberg family, has released combined year-end results for cellcos Hi3G Access Sweden and Hi3G Access Denmark, which operate under the ‘3’ banner as part of Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa’s 3 Group. Investor, which holds 40% in the two cellcos, reported that their combined mobile customer base grew by 27% year-on-year, or 338,000, bringing the total to 1.569 million at end-December 2009. It added that most of the new additions were mobile broadband subscribers. The two 3G network operators, collectively known as 3 Scandinavia with a yet-to-launch Norwegian business, posted a 13.5% turnover increase in 2009 to SEK5.84 billion (USD823 million), whilst EBITDA improved to SEK434 million, up from a loss of SEK106 million in 2008. The Scandinavian group also said that it turned EBIT positive from August 2009.
