NTC sees strong broadband growth for CATV firms

The Philippines’ telecoms regulator the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is encouraging local cable TV providers to register their firms as value added services (VAS) providers, under NTC ruling MC 02-05-2008, so they can offer broadband IP-based services alongside their standard TV packages. The NTC sees strong growth potential for high speed internet services in a market that is witnessing increased convergence.
