M1 may be ready for LTE launch in 2Q11, report says

A report from CNET Asia quoting MobileOne (M1) chief technical officer Patrick Scodeller, says the Singaporean cellco may be ready to launch its so-called ‘4G’ Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile broadband network by the second quarter of 2011. Demoing LTE for CNET Asia, Scodeller confirmed the company will start installing LTE base stations in about 1,400 locations across the island some time in October this year. The full works should be completed by Q1 2011.
