‘T’ for two: DT to rename merged domestic fixed, mobile units

2 Mar 2010

German telecoms operator Deutsche Telekom (DT) has announced that it will rename its domestic brand to ‘T’ as part of its efforts to integrate its fixed line and mobile operations in Germany, Dow Jones Newswires reports. DT currently uses the T-Home brand for its domestic fixed line operations and markets its German mobile services under the T-Mobile moniker. At the same time, DT also revealed that the company is targeting 2.5 million to three million subscribers to its IPTV service, dubbed ‘Entertain’, by 2012, as well as an additional 600,000 customers by the end of this year. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, DT had just over 850,000 Entertain subscribers at 31 December 2009.
