Globe outlines spending plans for 2010

Globe Telecom says it has secured a five-year loan facility from Allied Bank worth PHP2 billion (USD960,000). The money will go towards Globe’s PHP24 billion capital expenditure plan for 2010, which includes the addition of 2,000 more sites for its 3G and WiMAX networks. PHP8.2 billion is being earmarked for Globe’s mobile telephony unit, PHP11.4 billion will be spent on broadband, PHP2.4 billion will be used for fixed line data network improvements and there is to be a one-time PHP2.4 billion investment in the new Southeast Asia Japan Cable System.
